Gay Friendly Places To Live

There are several gay-friendly cities in America.  These are cities that have vibrant gay communities and gay-friendly restaurants and movie theatres

San Francisco and New York of course top the list of gay-friendly cities.  San Francisco is a mecca of gay and lesbian rights. The city has several blocks of gay-friendly restaurants and gay-friendly theatres. It also has the unique distinction of being a United States city that allowed gay and lesbian weddings.

New York City is the birthplace of modern gay and lesbian rights in the United States. It has several gay-friendly bars as well as gay-friendly apartment complexes. In June every year, the city hosts the biggest gay parade in the world. New York as always has something to offer to every individual.

There are several other cities apart from Chicago, New York and San Francisco that are equally gay-friendly.  Unfortunately many of these cities do not make it to the list of most popular gay and lesbian travel destinations.

Ohio is a city that is very supportive of its gay community. Its down town has several gay-friendly restaurants. Apart from this, it has numerous gay-friendly bars and sports clubs.  Providence near Boston is a very gay-friendly city. The largest city in the United States, Providence, has a gay mayor. It is the only city in New England that has gay bathhouses.

Another extremely gay-friendly city is Salt Lake city. There are a handful of gay-friendly bars here and several gay-friendly bed and breakfast accommodations. It also has some very popular gay hotels. The gay scene in Kansas city is a little discreet. But this does not mean that it does not have its share of gay-friendly restaurants and gay-friendly accommodations.

Among international cities, Berlin is a very gay-friendly city. Berlin has been Germany's gay capital since the late 19th Century, featuring everything from gay bars to a lesbian bowling club. Over 40,000 gay people attend the gay-pride parade every year.

Vancouver is another gay-friendly city that has been in the forefront of gay getaways since same-sex marriages became legal in 2003. The city has a relaxed atmosphere with several gay-friendly accommodations and restaurants.

Hong Kong is becoming a popular destination for the gay and lesbian community as the city slowly comes out of its closet.  There are some gay-friendly karaoke and hay-friendly saunas opening up in the city these days.
