KEY WEST'S UNIQUE "CONCH" ARCHITECTURE was influenced by southern, Caribbean and New England styles. Evidence of Key West's rich history in cigar-making, fishing and salvaging can be found throughout Old Town.
And evidence of the island's rich cultural
life can be found in places like the Hemingway House and the
Tennessee Williams Theatre. Key West boasts more Pulitzer
Prize winners per capita than any other town in the United
States. Live theatre can be enjoyed all year round, and the
Key West Symphony and Key West Pops present concerts throughout
the year. (You can check out upcoming events and even order
tickets online at www.keystix.com.)
Impromptu concerts and gallery walks showcase
the talents of local and visiting musicians and artists, and
every winter and spring Sculpture Key West mounts an island-wide
outdoor art exhibit. The Tropic Cinema on Eaton Street shows
contemporary and classic independent and art films daily.
There's plenty of nightlife, too. Key West
has some of the best restaurants in Florida – maybe
even the country. Clubs and bars offer jazz, standard, folk
and rock performances. Premier drag performers can be seen
nightly. And for the truly energetic, several dance spots
on and near Duval play club music into the wee hours.
“All of the staff were very friendly.
We want to come back next year for two weeks.”

The Tennessee Williams Theatre
is the venue for concerts by the Key West Symphony Orchestra and the Key West Pops.
