About Key West
“Our stay surpassed my wildest expectations. We look forward to our return trip!”
Key West is a tropical island at the southernmost end of the east coast of the United States. Accessible by ferry from Naples and Ft. Myers, Florida, by commercial airlines, or by bus, it is literally the end – or the beginning – of the road, mile 0 on highway 1. You can also reach Key West in a three and a half hour drive from Miami that takes you through the Florida Keys and across significant expanses of water – most notably via the seven-mile bridge.
Once you arrive, you’ll find a car isn’t
really necessary to get around this 8 square-mile island.
Walking and biking provide the best opportunity to get to
know Key West, and mopeds and taxis are available for those
few long trips.
“Thank you so much for providing
a place with such positive energy for us. We have so enjoyed
all the great activities in Key West as well as at Pearl's.”
Whatever you’re looking for in a vacation
– action, relaxation, entertainment, enlightenment,
fine dining, nature, nightlife – you’ll find it
in Key West.
But the best part about Key West is the people. This is a
very open and cooperative community. There is no segregated
"gay neighborhood" here, and residents feel comfortable
everywhere. Locals and business-owners are friendly –
whatever your sexuality, and whatever theirs. Our official
city motto is "One Human Family." You'll feel welcomed
on our island.
And at Pearl’s Rainbow, you’ll find
your Key West home.
"What a wonderful feeling it was
to be able to express ourselves openly at the resort and in
a community that has the philosophy of One Human Family."
