Celebrating The Pride Of Keywest

PrideFest is one of the most popular events of Key West. The event, which is presented by the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Key West, honors gay and lesbian achievements in equality, promotes tolerance and understanding, and provides a fun-filled whirl of revelry for visitors and residents of all sexual orientations.

PrideFest of Key West offers several events to gay and lesbian women. One of the most keenly participated events of the Key West Pridefest is The Drag King competition. Here, contestants need to dress as their favorite bad girls.

The PrideFest of Key West is celebrated every year in June. The theme for this year's event is "The End of the Rainbow." The Rainbow Flag is a huge symbol of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride.

The rainbow flag was designed as a symbol of the gay and lesbian community in 1978 by an artist named Gilbert Baker. Gay women and men felt the need for such a rainbow after the first gay parade in 1978. Each of the colors of the flag represents some aspect of the life of the lesbian women.

The red on the rainbow flag represents the life of lesbian women, orange is for healing, yellow for the sun, green for nature, blue for art and purple for spirit. The original flag also included pink for sexuality and indigo for magic.

Key West comes to life during PrideFest. More than 10,000 young couples take part in the event every year. The annual festival celebrates LGBT diversity in Key West, which is already known for its live-and-let-live attitude.

The Key West PrideFest also invites women to attend one event during the week dressed as their favorite Bad Girl costume. Another popular feature of PrideFest is a Drag King Contest, a competition where women dress in male "drag" and lip-sync to songs of male singers. There's also a competition for Ms. PrideFest, a lesbian "pageant" with a lot of comic relief built in. This is a very popular event.

Key West also has a number of great restaurants. PrideFest is no exception. There is a lot of great food along the parade route of PrideFest as well.
