Trekking The Inca Trail To Machu Pichhu

Hiking the Inca Trail in Peru is one of the most popular women adventure travel destinations these days. The Inca trail combines stunning views of the Inca ruins with mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest and rich subtropical jungle.

Hiking the Inca Trail is safe for women travel groups. However because of the steepness of the trail and the remote nature of the travel it is not really advised for women traveling alone.

The Inca trail leading to the sacred city of Machu Pichhu is a 45 km trek that takes an average four days to hike. The trek is a moderate climb for most experienced women adventure travel persons. However, the elevation levels do go up and hikers climb up to an altitude of 4,200 meters.

Lesbian women will love the hike to Machu Picchu as it is the citadel of the Inca trail. Machu Picchu sits atop a mountain in a jungle of green landscape in the steep rugged mountains of southern Peru. It was undiscovered for over 400 years although the Spaniards searched in vain for the gold that was believed to have been there. It was discovered in 1911 by a Yale archaeologist.

There are really not any luxury hotel that hikers can stay in during the four day trail. Most of the luxury resort are available at the base of the Inca trail in Cusco. Most women in travel love to hike up the Inca Trail because it is so grand. It is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world.
